Abstract

Recent advancement in wireless communications and electronics has enabled the development of low-cost sensor networks. The sensor networks can be used for various application areas (e.g., health, military, home). In this paper, communication protocols, this can have significant impact on the overall energy dissipation of these networks. For this, Here, discuss the operations of various EnergyEfficient Communication Protocol, as well as comparisons on the performance with different parameters such as the throughput and network lifetime. This paper contains survey of different these algorithms for WSNs; highlighting their objectives, features, complexity, etc. and also discuss improvements to be made for future proposed Communication Protocol. This article also points out the open research issues and intends to spark new interests and developments in this field.
