PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENTIAL SPATIAL MODULATION

Abstract:

Differential spatial modulation (DSM) is favorable in practice since it can offer a better tradeoff between reception reliability and system complexity in comparison with coherent spatial modulation .DSM is a special type of MIMO system has the potential of outperforming amplitude/phase modulation with maximal ratio combining (MRC). In differential spatial modulation technique uses different modulation technique such as QAM, PSK, DPSK for transmission and at the receiver it uses maximal ratio combiner algorithm for the betterment of reception. Differential spatial modulation activates only a single antenna for transmission at any time instant and uses the index of the active antenna as an additional information carrying mechanism. SM decoding is coherent in that channel state information is required at the receiver. Our simulation results show the signal parameters that decrease in the signal to the noise power and reduced bit error rate.
